According to reports from "Hankyung" on the 17th, a Seoul city official recently stated, "We have begun to survey the status of public art sculptures in Hangang Park, and public art works that detract from the aesthetics, such as the monster sculpture, are planned to be removed." The city plans to remove some public art works, including the monster sculpture, after a review by experts, possibly within the first half of this year.

There are a total of 47 public art works installed in Hangang Park under the jurisdiction of Seoul City. Among them, the monster sculpture erected in 2015 has been criticized by citizens for being eerie.

Directed by Bong Joon-ho, with actors including Song Kang-ho and Bae Doona, "The Host" depicts incidents involving a monster appearing on the banks of the Han River. The movie attracted approximately 13 million viewers in total.
