Superstar Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers, who will arrive in Seoul two days later, first greeted Korean fans on social networking services (SNS).
Ohtani, wearing a Dodgers uniform, posted a picture of himself posing with a finger heart with a bright smile on his SNS account on the 13th (Korea time).
Above the picture, it can be seen at a glance that he is a promotional figure for the Seoul Series, the opening game of the MLB regular league against the San Diego Padres at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul from the 20th to the 21st.
Ohtani, who had elbow surgery last year and could not take the mound this year, will challenge for a home run at Gocheok Sky Dome as a designated hitter.
Ohtani announced his participation in the Seoul Series at a media event held before the start of spring camp training earlier this month.
Ohtani, who signed a contract with the Dodgers for an astronomical amount of $700 million over 10 years, firmly settled in the new team with a batting average of 0.579 (11 hits in 19 at-bats), two homers and nine RBIs in the exhibition game.
The San Diego team and the Dodgers team, including Ohtani, will arrive in Korea one after another on the 15th and begin jet lag training at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 16th.
