Uhwudong-dong was a poet, calligrapher, writer, gisaeng, and dancer in the early Joseon Dynasty. Now in Korea, Uhwudong has established itself as a symbol of an attractive woman, a woman who is awake. She was originally a woman from a noble family, and became a female Gisaeng after being divorced by her husband, and was also the protagonist of a scandal involving high-ranking government officials during the Joseon Dynasty.
