Seoul's Han River will host 120 diverse events, including a sleeping contest and a zone-out competition, starting with the 2024 Han River Festival in May until year-end, announced the Seoul Metropolitan Government. With 105 city-led and 15 private events, the city aims to use 4 billion won for these activities. The top 10 anticipated programs include a mask parade on May 5, part of the car-free Jamsu Bridge Walking Festival, and the annual space-out competition on May 12 at Jamsu Bridge. A new addition is the sleeping contest on May 11 at Yeouido Hangang Park, rewarding the most peaceful sleeper. Other highlights comprise musical events, a boat parade, and activities supporting the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The city hopes to draw 3 million visitors, projecting economic benefits of up to 120.6 billion won and creating 964 jobs.
