The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced plans to introduce the "Moon of Seoul" tethered helium balloon ride at Yeouido Hangang Park, scheduled for operation starting in June.
Preparations for the installation of the moon-shaped balloon, currently being constructed in France, are underway. Upon completion, it will undergo safety inspections in compliance with the Aviation Safety Act.
Safety measures are prioritized, with minimal disruption to citizens expected during installation. Environmental preservation efforts include relocating trees and shrubs at the site within the park.
The attraction is slated for completion in June, followed by 10 days of test flights before official operation. It will accommodate up to 30 passengers, ascending 150 meters above ground for a 15-minute journey.
Operating hours will be from Tuesday to Sunday, 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., with Mondays reserved for maintenance. Ticket prices are set at 25,000 won for adults and 20,000 won for individuals under 19 and over 64. Discounts will be offered for persons with disabilities and groups of 20 or more.
Flight schedules will be accessible via the Seoul Metropolitan Government website and social media, subject to weather conditions.
