It investigated the current status of the Korean Wave in general and by sector (broadcasting, film, K-pop, Korean food, Korean language, beauty, sports, e-content, etc.) provided by 172 Korean diplomatic missions in 119 countries, data on Korean Wave fans collected by 161 diplomatic missions, and why locals in each country like Korean culture.

The number of Hallyu clubs worldwide was 1748, about 2.3 times higher than 757 in 2012, and 64 more than the previous year.
Asia's Oceania was the region with the largest number of Hallyu clubs or Hallyu fans. Sixty-six percent of all Hallyu fans lived in Asia's Oceania. China resumed airing Korean Wave dramas in 2022, making it a country with about 100 million Ryu fans in 2023. Thailand was listed as the country with the largest number of clubs in the world, with 123 Korean Wave fan clubs. The biggest growth was in the Americas, where the number of Korean Wave fans increased by 80 percent year-on-year.
