At Sudokwon Landfill, a Worker’s Honesty Shines Through
INCHEON, South Korea — In a remarkable display of integrity, a worker at the Sudokwon Landfill Site in Incheon was honored by the Incheon Seobu Police Station for his exemplary act of reporting bundles of banknotes discovered amidst the waste.
Mr. Park Jae-geun, a seasoned employee with over three decades of service at a subcontractor of Sudokwon Landfill Site Management Corp., stumbled upon a total of 29 million won ($21,700) on February 1st while attending to his duties of waste disposal, as reported by local media.
Despite the chaotic setting of the landfill, Mr. Park’s keen eye caught sight of two plastic bags containing neatly stacked bundles of 50,000 won notes. Without hesitation, he promptly reported his findings to the authorities, adhering strictly to the protocols established by the site’s operator.
Thanks to the receipts recovered alongside the money, the Incheon Seobu Police Station swiftly traced the rightful owner of the misplaced funds.
